Konica Minolta's brain science-based design stimulates purchase

For nearly 150 years since its founding, Konica Minolta has continued to make the invisible visible and respond to people's desires. In order to further evolve this DNA and meet the needs of consumers to "want" to see how a design makes them feel, we have developed the "Spirit" concept of COI STREAM, a Ministry of Education/JST program that uses brain science to research the visualization of sensibilities. We participated in the ``Keishin Innovation Center for Growing Human Value'' (core institution: Hiroshima University, which will end in 2021), and were able to gain knowledge about perception and brain mechanisms.

"Explainable KANSEI Solution" uses image analysis using algorithms based on kansei brain engineering to analyze all designs related to marketing activities, such as packages, posters, catalogs, websites, product displays, etc., based on sensibilities. Quantitatively show the effects of the changes and make them explainable. This makes it possible to predict consumer purchasing behavior and pursue the optimal design that will lead to purchasing activity.
